patterns for rocks
This installation was created instinctively during a miscarriage. I was drawn to each rock, studied its curves, and wanted to create a shell to wrap and hold it intimately. The rock, the miscarriage, and my body are all equally events, in the process of formation and decay. I wanted to see them slowly in that process, at the speed of a sewing needle. And perhaps I was drawn to these vibrant colors as a celebration of the impermanence of each body. These pieces became a medium for me to convey that truth. Without thinking, I created stools for the rocks to sit and rest on.

石のための模様
この作品は、流産中に本能的に生まれました。
石に惹かれ、その曲線をよく見て、親密に抱き包むような殻を作りたかったのです。石も流産も、そして私の身体も、すべて等しくイベントであり、形成と崩壊の途中にある。その過程の中で、縫い針のスピードでゆっくり見ていきたいと思ったんです。そしておそらく私は、それぞれの身体の無常を祝うものとして、この鮮やかな色に引き寄せられたのだろう。これらの作品は、私にとってその真実を伝える媒体となったのです。
私は何も考えずに、この石たちが座って休めるような椅子を作りました。
